The Visit of the Delegation from Michigan State University College of Education
On May 27, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC had a chance to welcome the delegation of 10 doctoral students from Michigan State University College of Education, headed by Dr. Todd W. Drummond. The primary purpose of their visit was to understand about SEAMEO RETRAC operations and to discuss the possible collaborations in the future.
Sharing Session on “Effective Use of ICT in the Language Classroom”
On May 14, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized a sharing session on “Effective Use of ICT in the Language Classroom” for teachers of English at the Center. The session was shared by Mr. Khau Huu Phuoc and drew the participation of 20 teachers.
Training Workshop on “The Practical Aspects of Doing Research: Problem to Publication”, Module 2 – Fundamentals of Research Designs
From May 08 to 09, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC conducted the training workshop on “The Practical Aspects of Doing Research: Problem to Publication, Module 2 – Fundamentals of Research Designs” for 20 lecturers and research staff from colleges and universities in HCMC and neighboring provinces. Training Workshop on “Designing Interactive Teaching Materials with Captivate”
On April 25, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized a training workshop on “Designing Interactive Teaching Materials with Captivate” at the Center for 30 faculty members from universities and colleges. Training content involved the application of Captivate to design interactive lectures vividly and effectively.
Meeting on Provincial Training Programs
On April 24, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized a meeting on provincial training programs for teachers who are teaching English proficiency courses for school teachers of English in provinces. The meeting aimed at introducing an overview of the National Foreign Languages Project 2020 and reviewing the operation of the programs in different provinces. Sharing Session on “‘Inspired to Write’ in the IELTS Preparation”
On April 17, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized a sharing session on “‘Inspired to Write’ in the IELTS Preparation” for teachers of English teaching IELTS Writing at the Center. The session was shared by Ms. Nguyen Vo Kieu Trang and drew the participation of 20 teachers.
Orientation Session for New Teachers
On April 04, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized an orientation session for new teachers at its premises. The orientation session acted as a guideline to introduce the Center’s setting, teaching regulations and offered a chance for teachers to share their teaching experiences. Twenty new expatriates and Vietnamese teachers participated in this session.
Training Workshop on “Designing Presentations with Prezi”
On March 28, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC organized the training workshop on “Designing Presentations with Prezi” for more than 60 faculty members from universities and colleges. Training content involved the application of Prezi to design online presentations vividly and effectively.

The Visit of the Delegation from Calgary School Board of Education, Canada
On March 21, 2014, SEAMEO RETRAC had a chance to welcome 26 principals and teachers from Calgary Education Board, Canada. The primary purpose of their visit was to understand about the Vietnam’s basic educational system. On this occasion, SEAMEO RETRAC and Calgary Education Board also discussed the possible collaborations in the future.
