Retreat to Singapore
SEAMEO RETRAC held a mid-year excursion trip to Singapore for its staff from June 12-15, 2012. On this occasion, the staff and their loved ones had a chance to visit Universal Studios, Botanical Garden and Merlion Park and attend cultural performances.
Training Workshop on Business Writing
SEAMEO RETRAC organized the training workshop on Business Writing on May 31, 2012 for the Center’s staff. The workshop, facilitated by Mr. Kaan Ustun, intern from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, was centered on providing the participants with techniques in writing business emails.
Training Workshop on Teaching Pronunciation
SEAMEO RETRAC organized the training workshop on Teaching Pronunciation on May 30, 2012 with the participation of more than 20 English language teachers teaching at the Center. The workshop, facilitated by Ms. Nicola Gray, Director of Studies, Ability Education Pty Ltd., Australia, was centered on providing the teachers with techniques in teaching pronunciation.
Training Workshop on Teaching Vocabulary
SEAMEO RETRAC organized the training workshop on Teaching Vocabulary on May 24, 2012 with the participation of more than 30 English language teachers teaching at the Center. The workshop, facilitated by Ms. Nicola Gray, Director of Studies, Ability Education Pty Ltd., Australia, was centered on providing the teachers with experiences in eliciting and using concept checking to teach vocabulary effectively.
