OPEN DOOR TO U.S. HIGHER EDUCATION

SEAMEO RETRAC, in partnership with the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to host three separate 1.5-day virtual training workshops for participants coming from Ho Chi Minh, Hue, and Can Tho City. These trainings are designed to equip participants with a better understanding about the U.S. Higher Education System.

AIMS

After the training workshop, participants will have increased understanding and ability to better support and to give needed advice in order to pave the way for students who wish to pursue a college education in the United States.

OBJECTIVES

 The workshop aims to provide the participants with:

• updated knowledge about the U.S higher education system;
• necessary tools to explore a range of academic programs;
• enrollment procedures and other related concerns;
• useful tips on how to help students apply for and obtain U.S Scholarships and beneficial Financial Aid packages; and
• information on how to access basic information for student visa application.

FORMAT

The Training Workshops will be conducted in a virtual format via the Zoom platform.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

• Guidance counselors from high school and universities;
• Staff in charge of overseas study of major educational institution;
• Language teachers at high schools and university level;
• Counselors of major counseling agencies

LANGUAGE USED

English will be the only language used for the workshops.
