Regional workshop on “Enhancing Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education in South East Asia through Innovative Educational Leadership and Management”
On May 12-13, 2022, SEAMEO RETRAC, in collaboration with SEAMEO Secretariat, organized the Regional Workshop “Enhancing Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education in Southeast Asia through Innovative Educational Leadership and Management”. This is a SEAMEO Inter-center Collaborative Project aiming to promote priority areas in the Education Agenda of Southeast Asia for the period of 2015-2030. SEAMEO RETRAC was honored to host this regional event.
Distinguished guests and participants of the workshop included the Deputy Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, H.E. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc; Director of SEAMEO Secretariat, Dr. Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela; the representative from UNESCO Bangkok; representatives from Ministry of Education of SEAMEO Member Countries; representatives from SEAMEO Regional Centers; administrators and experts from universities, colleges, schools, and educational organizations in Vietnam and some SEAMEO Associate Member Countries. With insightful and informative discussions, the Regional Workshop also attracted the attendance of more than 7,700 participants via YouTube Live from different nations including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Algeria, India, Nigeria, and Pakistan.
The hybrid approach was employed in organizing this regional event, integrating a video conferencing platform for participants outside of Vietnam and face-to-face for those inside Vietnam as well as live streaming via SEAMEO RETRAC YouTube Channel for interested educators, school administrators, and teachers in the Southeast Asia region and beyond. The workshop provided a platform for sharing information and experience in inclusive and equitable quality education in Vietnam, Southeast Asian countries, international organizations, and some countries in the world. At the same time, the workshop recommended innovative solutions in educational leadership and management to enhance inclusive and equitable quality education in the region.
