Educational Forum on “Innovations in Teaching Life-skills and 21st Century Skills at Basic Education: Best Practices from Southeast Asia”
SEAMEO RETRAC successfully conducted the Educational Forum, namely “Innovations in Teaching Life-skills and 21st Century Skills at Basic Education: Best Practices from Southeast Asia” on September 25, 2014, at its premises. The Forum was held back to back with the Center’s 17th Governing Board Meeting and served as a platform for the exchange and discussion of ideas and experiences in relation to best practices in innovations in teaching life-skills and 21st century skills at basic education from Southeast Asian countries.
Presenting at the Forum were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Hung, Acting Director General, International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam and SEAMEO RETRAC’s Governing Board Members from Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, representatives from Thailand’s Ministry of Education and trainers of life-skills in Vietnam.
Participating in the Forum also included more than 40 educators, academic staff and lecturers from universities, colleges and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. The participants took this opportunity for sharing their viewpoints and experiences as well as enhancing and expanding collaborations in the field within the region.
